I would like to make you aware of an absolutely terrible customer experience I received at your location on 3644 S. Archer Ave. on Wednesday night June 29, 2016. I arrived at the store at 10:50PM which hours are stated as 7:00AM -11:00PM. As I tried to enter, to my surprise, both doors were blocked. One with a garbage can, the other with a sign preventing entry. This was strange as I saw several customers at the check out registers, and the store still operating. As I looked around for an idea of what was going. a security guy comes to the exit, alerts me that they are closed. Confused by this, since once again the hours are shown as 11 :00PM, I remarked that it was not 11:00 PM yet and at this point it was about 10:52 PM as I verified on my phone. All the security guard could offer was that they were closed. No sorry, no explanation. I explain I just need to run in and grab some medicine. Still no go, and he explained that the last time he let someone in last minute, they ran in and grabbed a bunch of stuff. So now not only are you refusing to honor your posted hours. You are inferring that I might steal. Great!!! Unfortunately this gets worse....

So, I ask for a manager. Security guard walks off, I was assuming to go get whoever was in charge at this time. While I wait, my gf who I was on the phone with pretty much the whole time, calls the store directly. I overhear someone tell her to call back in the morning. They then just leave her on hold, and me standing outside for another 2 to 3 minutes. So I began to knock on the doors and windows, as I could literally see them leaving the phone on hold, I guess hoping my gf would hang up and I would go away. Nope, sorry. At this point I wanted the corporate number and the name of the manager on duty....Then a large woman (85% sure it was a woman, not even trying to be insultng) approaches the door and things got real...

So the large like woman approaches the door, and yells, "Stop knocking on the glass, I am about to come out there," in a very aggressive manner, like I just disturbed her nap or something. So I stop knocking she comes and asks sharply,"What you want?" Just oozing friendliness. I tell her some theraflu. She tells me "Come on! But we really arent supposed to let you in after 10:55! I reply oh but I got here at 10:50PM. She replied well that is not what I was told. I remark well you were told incorrectly. So, I guess since I was calling her on her bs and stating actual facts, she didnt like that. So she escorts me thru the store, mumbling about me coming late, and how its after 10:55 (even though I already told her I got there before 10:55PM) , so at this point I remark on her excellent customer service, and ask where is the policy that states you guys close at 10:55PM, because I would love to see it...she says I will be glad to show it to you once I get my stuff, I'm talking a lot of trash to be coming in here the last minute. So I say, "Look its clear you dont give a ***, but this is terrible customer service." She says well at least you already know, "i DONT GIVE A ***!" Awesome.....

So we make it towards the medicine aisle, and instead of deescalating the situation, helping me find my items, and you know doing her actual job...she's being extremely rude, standing off to the side arms folded, telling me to hurry, when I grabbed cough drops, telling me that, "You said you were just getting theraflu! THATS NOT THERAFLU!" At this point its just comical how upset and ridiculous this "woman" is being, so I laugh...my girlfriend is still on the phone and can hear this and is in just as much shock as I am....So then she keeps telling me to hurry, tells me "Why didn't that girl on the phone come earlier and buy the medicine?" So shes now directing her anger at people who arent even present. We make our way back to the front of the store, I ask her again about this policy in writing that shows the store closes at 10:55PM, she again says she will get it for me. Shes yelling what register is open. I remark she "must be the employee of the month here!" (Granted I was being a smart ***, but it was well deeserved) She continues saying I am talking a lot of trash, being overly rude and loud, and doing everything but what you would expect out of a person working in customer service, retail, or an actual adult. I decide to hang up with my gf at this point and start recording, and she just about loses it. I am surprised a big "woman" could move so fast. She screaming I am not allowed to record in the store. I didnt get her permission to record her," Takes my items and says now you cant have this and you have to leave because you cant record in the store. Shes threatens to call CPD on me, I say go ahead. She says delete the video or you cant complete the transaction. I wonder why, oh why she was so worried about being recorded? HMMMMM. So at this point I shouldve not even taken the items, but I feel Ive committd so much time and my girlfriend did need the medicine, so at this point might as well just get what I need, get a corporate number and leave. So I comply, delete the video, and she verifies. She goes back to making snide remarks, "I'm pretty sure you know how to use a chip card, stick it in the bottom, duh!" I get 5 dollars cash back, she remarks "Oh Big spender" After the purchase, I am looking for names and the manager on duty. I ask a gentleman there, he says "there is no manager on duty." If this is true, and I am pretty sure it wasnt, that explains a lot. I ask the "woman" is she the manager on duty, since she was the one they sent to deal with this situation in the first place and shes explains she "will let me know once I am out of the store." I guess right after she grabs the policy showing they close at 10:55PM. So as Im exiting I tell "Judy," which was the only name I heard referenced while I was in the store, and the name my gf relayed to me while on the phone, that "shed be hearing from me again, later" After I exit the "woman" calls me a "***!" I laugh it off...unfortunately I've been called worse. No biggie. But it aint over....

So I decide since no one was able to provide me with a policy showing they close at 10:55PM (even thought I got there at 10:50PM) , no one apologized or stepped in as this employee was being extrememely confrontational and rude, and no one provided me with a corporate number. Maybe I should document this in some way. So once I exited and was at a safe distance away from the door, I took some photos of everyone I could. Just so I would have some visuals and those in power would know exactly who was present, or at least some of the individuals. And I absolutely wanted to get a pic of the my new bestie who had just called me a "***!" Once the "woman" noticed I was taking pics, this sent her off again. She charges out of the store, yelling "woman": "You cant take pictures or record me. You have no permission to record. Me: Ummm Im not recording. "woman": "Im going to call CPD" ME: Go ahead "woman": "Now if I smashed your *** phone, blah, blah blah Me: Yeah, okay "woman": Matter fact what car you walking to, Im going to take a photo and press charges. Me: Haha, okay go ahead dude. She takes the photo, I pose by my car, I ask her if shes got it now. Then head to enter my car. She begins to walk away, but she has a couple more insults left in her. She says I am lucky these cameras are here or shed whup my ***. Hmmmm, possible. Then she left me with this gem. And this is a loose translation as it was screamed as she was walking further away. She referred to the girl on the phone (which was my gf, she really didn't like her for some reason) and how she was going to *** ***, and I'd get sick" You know, because I was getting her meds I guess? That one I will admit, was kinda funny....She called me *** one more time, and that was that. So after that lovely exchange, I took a couple more photos of employees in the store and exited the parking lot....

This incident should have never occurred. This is truly the worst experience I have ever had and because of this I don't not foresee myself ever shopping there again.

You sound like a terrible customer! I wouldn't let you in.

I would have called the police on you. You probably forgot to take your meds. It's not the store's fault, it was their policy. You are the one who started this and sound very demanding.

If you did it to Jewel, you probably have done this to other stores in the area. You sound like a nasty sob!
